"So. It's an invisible killer drone."
"Keeps getting better."

In other words, a normal day in the town of Eureka. I have two criticisms though. One is that I could have done without the unsubtle suggestion that the Degree antiperspirant(1) was created there. The other is that they compressed the wonderfully joyful opening credits down to 10 meaningless seconds(2). And... (BIG SPOILER coming up!!!) The third criticism(3) is that Henry is in jail and I want him back in his garage.

----------

(1) For men! Not for girly men.
(2) Should I blame Lost for shows now doing away with real opening credits?
(3) "Amongst our weaponry..."

"the unsubtle suggestion that the Degree antiperspirant(1) was created there"

I didn't get that at all. They made a reference to "our new sponsors," as in corporate money going toward research and development, yes?

BTW, this was the first time I tuned in, and largely due to your repeated mentions of the show. I found it quite fun.

Moi, making repeated mentions of the show? I demand proof. Heheheh. I'm glad I got at least one person interested in watching the show. And I'm relieved that a newcomer saw no problem and it was just me expecting the show to drop the shoe and forgetting why it was successful. Mind you, I felt that way when the 2nd season began, and it turned out to be even better than the first season.

But I still miss the original opening credits.

By the way, is it my imagination, or the season of Doctor Who had more slambang stuff and less of the Doctor being like a kid discovering the wonders of the universe? That impression may be from my having missed some episodes. I watched as many as I could off the web, but the site you'd told me about doesn't have the last stories from this season, or the first one with the Titanic in space.

Hmm. He was pretty kidlike in the Titanic one...and a bit, in Midnight, at first (clearly not later), but yeah, there was a great deal of direness this season. But, what with planets disappearing and all...and it leading to... (you have seen the finale, have you not? It showed on skiffy, right? Or at least the first half?

Ahem.

For the benefit of those of us without cable (and who are waiting until after Worldcon to pick up the Season 2 DVDs anyhow, and want to get caught up on those before thinking about Season 3), spoiler-cuts would be appreciated. Maybe that's a minor spoiler, and maybe it's not, but I won't know which until I've seen the episode. And that might not be until the season 3 DVDs come out!

Alas, I haven't seen the Titanic story. As for the season's finale, I've watched its first half on TV. By the way, I didn't quite catch how Rose crossed over from that other Reality. That being said, I was glad to see her. (It's weird how she reminds me of my baby sister-in-law when she smiles. Hmmm... Naaaah.)

Oops. I apologize. I blame the enthusiasm of youth - mental if not physical youth.

Spoiler warning has been added.
Again, my apologies.

Well, she works for Torchwood on her side now, so...they figured it out, you know. Made new dimension-crashers like-but-not-exactly-like the old ones (you'll see them in the next ep--wait, is that a spoiler? Not really...), and have comms that communicate through dimensions, sure!

Oh, that's why she had a big gun. I think I'm going to have to watch that episode again because things went fast and furious, and I missed quite a few things.

Actually, she's been working for Torchwood ever since Doomsday, I think. I'm pretty sure they mentioned it in there before she went to Bad Wolf Bay...

Ahah... My confusion stemmed from my never having watched Torchwood, due to its unavailability thru the local cable lineup. That's a situation I am planning to correct in the next few weeks, thru the wonders of DVDs.

I don't have cable anymore, either, but I'm expecting/hoping to be able to keep up this season of Eureka at SciFi.com/rewind. Last season's Battlestar Galactica eps usually went up within 24 hours of airing.

Actually, what I was suggesting was putting descriptions of major plot elements behind an LJ-cut. Take a look at my "Bones" tag entries to see how it works.

Good idea. I'll keep that in mind for next time.

When the 2nd season's finale was aired, back in October, I accidentally taped only the last 5 minutes. I was, to say the least, bummed. I was going to correct that by watching the episode on the SciFi Channel's site this last weekend. Then I remembered that the 2nd season had just been released on DVD so I made a quick trip to Borders and voila!

I have the 2nd season DVDs and have already caught up on the ones I missed last year. So I'm set for the new ones.

I missed some of that season's episodes too, but I figured I should make sure I catch the finale first. Did you have any favorites? Mine was the one where Jack realizes that people are disappearing and nobody else remembers that they were ever around. The ending had me choked up a bit.
