The ash tree's leaves have begun falling all over our front-yard. Most of the leaves are being blown around to pile up at the base of a low-lying juniper, which will make it awkward to get them out of there and into garbage bags when the ash is bare. But there's a heap of leaves that keeps accumulating in the same spot in front of the garage door. Maybe that's where there's a Gate to another Reality where atmospheric pressure is lower. Or maybe it's due to the way the yard and the house and the various trees are laid out.

Speaking of wandering into another Reality… Yesterday, my manager himself/herself volunteered a comment about how productivity at work is decreasing because we have to spend so much time on leaving an electronic papertail for everything we do. To say that I was shocked, not by the message but by its messenger, is something of an understatement.

Besides that… We're implementing a lot of changes tonight, which I'll be monitoring since I'm the primary programmer this month. Then, as soon as the last of our regularly scheduled data has arrived, I am to start our monthly processing. I expect it'll be midnight before I can go to sleep. Luckily, I'll be doing this from the comfort of home although my chair is in dire need of a replacement.

To make up for that, I'll be surrounded by my books, and by my comic-books, and with a gladius hung in the wall, right above my laptop, but not above my head.
