Yesterday was the 2-week anniversary of Sue's knee-replacement surgery. It also marked the end of my having to give her injections of anti-clotting drug lovenox. Since Sue isn't big on pain, I had been elected. (Hmmm... That doen't sound right.) I had never done this before, but after giving her shots twice a day for 10 days, I did get better. For some reason though, Sue was quite happy that I wouldn't be jabbing at her no more.

Yesterday also was marked by the removal of her scar's staples. I had wanted to take a photograph of her knee with those still on, especially after we found that, when all costs incurred by our health provider are tallied, her knee is now worth $45,000. (Move over, Betty Grable!) Alas, it wasn't to be because that's when I realized that my camera's batteries had no charge left in them, and I couldn't rush out to get new ones, what with the therapist being there for the removal.

Curses!
Foiled again!

That being said, Sue's recovery is proceeding well. She has graduated from a walker to crutches and should be able to start caning me by the end of next week.

Happy Turkey Day, everybody!
