"Everything BUT Tom Bombadil!"
Mar. 26th, 2009 12:47 pmI'm not sure if this was a rerun, but last night I saw Neil Gaiman on Colbert's show. Colbert of course pretended to be aghast at the dark stuff in Gaiman's kid story The Graveyard Book and asked if he'd read Lovecraft while still in the crib. Gaiman responded that he had discovered Lovecraft at 11, along with Tolkien, at which point Colbert inquired as to what his favorite part was in Lord of the Rings. "Everything but Tom Bombadil!" exclaimed Gaiman. It went downhill from there. Silly.
