"Atomic Robo and the Revenge of the Vampire Dimension"

The first issue’s of this year’s Atomic Robo just came out. One week early. Hurrah! Its authors, Clevinger & Wegener, are in full form. The story begins with nerdy scientist Bernard Fischer finding himself competing with one big scientist named Rex Cannon for a newly freed position among Tesladyne’s group of Action Scientists. How did the position come to be free? Well, the previous Action Scientist ran into an evil organization, and there was this volcano, you see, and some Action Geology. Overall, things aren't going well for Bernard.

Then vampires break into the middle of the job interview.

“All we’ve got to do is reverse the experiment’s particle flow and the vampires should re-align to the quantum flavor of their universe. Other than the damage and horror, it’ll be like they were never here.”

“It sounds so simple when you say it.”

“These things usually are.”

“These things? Plural? How often does this happen?”

“Oh, there’s always something weird going on. Invasions from the vampire dimension are pretty rare though. I doubt you’ll live to see another one.”

“Don’t phrase it like that. Please.”
