bachelorhood, beans & words

Sue is out with buddettes of hers. Today was a bit of a strenuous day, and I wish I had rum to mix in with my cola, or, even better, I wish one of my friends were available for a chat. As neither is currently available, I've been spending my evening's temporary bachelorhood so far enjoying a can of chili & beans, followed by the reading of words, while the "Singers & Swing" channel is on in the background. My schedule for Tuscon (which will be held in Tucson in mid-November) arrived today and confirms that I will be on a steampunk panel. That should be interesting as it emphasizes the 'punk' aspect of the genre, which I think is a case of the label defining the contents, when it should really be the other way around.
