Still in the Bay Area for that training.

I had a wonderful time, staying at my friend Yoko's for the first two evenings. Since then, I've been at one of my sisters-in-law, who lives in the Oakland Hills. This meant my traditional BART ride to San Francisco's Market Street station, and from there to the TransBay Bus Terminal, where a bus would wend its way over the Bay Bridge and up into the Hills. Except that the Terminal, much to my surprise on Tuesday evening, has been replaced by a heap of rubble and dirt. Luckily, they had relocated only a few blocks over to a more modern setup. I think I will miss the old Terminal's squalid facilities though.

Yesterday was our 25th wedding anniversary, the first time that my wife and I weren't together on that day since we tied the knot in Toronto. This should be the one and only time we'll be prevented from celebrating.

(By the way, yesterday, I knew I'd miss the TransBay's last bus to my in-law so I took BART to the Rockridge Station, and walked up the Hills - and I do mean UP - back to her place. I was quite pleased that it took almost exactly the same time as that walk downhill. Not too bad for a 55-year-old.)
