"Who are you?"
"Nobody has a clue. Least of all me."

Every once in a while, my wife and I pop in the DVD of 1997's "The Saint", which starred Val Kilmer and Elisabeth Shue. We both love that movie, but as far as we remember, it didn't do well with critics or with the public. Why, we don't know. Maybe people aren't interested in old-fashioned romantic adventures anymore.

Recently, my wife was working on a proposal using OpenOffice when she accidentally typed in a bizarre combination of keystrokes. Not the first time, nor do I expect it to be the last, but the effect in this case was to wipe out all of her laptop's printer drivers. I pulled out the folder containing our various driver disks and began reloading one. At the end of the process, the laptop declared that it had encountered an error and recommended a reboot. Which I promptly did. When the bootup was done, I found that all the printer drivers were back.

My wife does have awesome computer superpowers.

"Moonchild"

Call her moonchild
Dancing in the shallows of a river
Lovely moonchild
Dreaming in the shadow
Of the willow.

Talking to the trees of the
Cobweb strange
Sleeping on the steps of a fountain
Waving silver wands to the
Night-birds song
Waiting for the sun on the mountain.

She's a moonchild
Gathering the flowers in a garden.
Lovely moonchild
Drifting on the echoes of the hours.

Sailing on the wind
In a milk white gown
Dropping circle stones on a sun dial
Playing hide and seek
With the ghosts of dawn
Waiting for a smile from a sun child.

Looking at my wife's Nebula ballot, I was shocked, shocked, to find that their nominations have very little in common with what I'd have put in such a list.
