sergebroom: (Master of the World)
Last night's meeting of the SF club was Cake Time, provided by local fans Kevin and Randi, who'll be tying the knot in about 3 weeks. I had many nice conversations, got a gift from Craig Chrissinger - the 1970 paperback of the novel that had been the inspiration for Disney's "Island at the Top of the World". Kathy Kubica drove back to her place when she realized she'd forgotten to get me the Steampunk episode of "Castle" even though I insisted I could wait until our next encounter. After the meeting, some of us went to Applebee's. I'd have stayed up longer, but I knew I'd have to spend time on problems with work's computer. I went to bed at 2am, got some sleep, spent a few more hours on our system until the darn thing was back in business. I can nowe relax.

By the way, Sue got a very nice royalty check today.
Woohoo!

"She'd better fuck like Helen of Troy with her ass on fire."

Yes, we are watching HBO's "Rome".
Why do you ask?

Today our mailbox contained the 15th issue of Black Gate. It was my first, bought because it has a story by Chris Willrich, and I must say that the whole thick issue looks it'll be a box of treats.

Besides that... I've uploaded the 68th issue of Beneath Ceaseless Skies" to my Nook and it looks like it'll be another enjoyable experience.

I just emailed to Bubonicon my first nomination for the Green Slime bad-movie Award - Starz's "Camelot". I justified my choice thus:

If a story's first episode ends with Eva Green in full frontal nudity and a heterosexual man still shows no interest in learning the rest of the story, there's got to be many things wrong with the whole affair.
