"X-men: First Class"
Jun. 12th, 2011 05:47 pmI just came back from seeing "X-men: First Class". It was far better than "Wolverine", but... Yes, there is a 'but'. It had too many characters, and it tried to give each of them their moment in the spotlight, but that made for a plot that wandered and still most of the characters remained cyphers with unclear motivation. Even Magneto's change of attitude near the end goes unexplained. But(bis)... There was Hank McCoy, aka the Beast, who was done well.
Damn.
I wish I could get unalloyed fun when I go to the theatre.
I wish I weren't so critical.

This weekend, I mowed the lawn, got my hair cut, worked from 5pm until 2am to fix computer problems, saw "X-men: First Class", spent 2 hours digging a hole to expose the lawn's watering controls and see where the seepage might be, read Hugo nominees, asnd just finished watching "Amélie", which I don't recommend starting in the middle, but Audrey Tautou sure is purty.
