the Fourth so far
Jul. 3rd, 2011 02:24 pmThe Fourth's weekend has been pretty good so far.
The first half of Saturday was spent doing yardwork. Watering. Pulling weeds. Mowing the lawn. In the evening, we went to Vic Milan's - for the 25th anniversary celebration of "Big Trouble in Little China". He had the new edition of the first "Wild Cards" novel on display. I should probably acquire it because it has new stories, one of them by a well-known writer who was a teenager when the original edition was published. They apparently still have that person's fan letter from back then. Bwahahahah!!!
Today we had quite a scare. We thought Rocky the Idiot Cat had run out, but that was another Maine Coon we'd seen in our front yard. It turned out that our own feline had decided to hide in a closet when someone came to pick up something.
I just finished setting up our BluRay player, and may have actually gotten its internet access working properly. Shall wonders never cease? That being said, I did test how well DVDs play on it by putting in 2000's "X-men". For some reason, my wife wanted us to play the whole scene that introduced us to Hugh Jackman.
We're now about to go to another party, at the house of another writer, one's whose abode has been described as even more cool than Neil Gaiman's.
See you later.
