it matters VERY much
Aug. 22nd, 2011 08:13 pmMy wife and I left the worldcon early yesterday and ended our long driver back home a couple of hours ago. Saturday was especially wonderful. I had breakfast with writer MK Hobson, whose novel "The Native Star" was a Nebula nominee, and later attended the kaffeeklatch of Madeleine Robins, author of the "Sarah Tolerance" mysteries, and if you don't know their works yet, you should correct that situation as soon as possible. Thanks to my friend Susan de Guardiola, I spent the rest of the day involved in the Hugo Ceremonies. During the actual ceremonies, I got to see the backstage reactions of the winners, and it was quite an eye-opener.
The award matters VERY much to them.
