Yesterday, I moved the fake palm tree (and its two Godzillas) elsewhere in the living-room. Darn thing was quite heavy. I then lay an old carpet in the middle of the area. I put up our new fake Christmas Tree on said carpet then slid the whole 9-foot affair in the corner where the palm tree was. I'd have preferred a non-lit tree, but there's been very few of those and what I saw didn't look good so I wound up with a pre-lit. I was going to add multicolored strands on top of the tree's clear lights, but I decided that the latter looked fine by themselves. Besides, after 2 hours of fluffing the branches out, I got lazy. That being said, I may transform the Tree into a non-lit one next year: there's already one light strand that doesn't work. It's not too obvious, but I may take a cutter to the wiring. By the way, I found the following in our Christmas Tree's instructions:

"Assemble the tree from the bottom to the top."

At the grocery store's checkout line today, I found myself behind a 3-year-old girl who called me 'grandaddy'. Since she was smiling, I'll assume she saw me as a kind elderly gentleman.
