We saw Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin" yesterday. It's my understanding that it's not doing that well, probably because, to modern American audiences, the characters don't mean anything. To francophones of my generation though... They were important, and some of their adventures were our first introduction to SF. This is my way to say that I enjoyed the film. The action was cranked all the way up to HIGH, compared to the original's, but the characters rang true, and it was entertaining to recognize the elements taken from various tales and woven into a new story. The sweetest moment happened early in the film, when Tintin is going around a flea market, and is having his portrait made by Hergé, who created him, and who, because of what he gave us, was loved by many, even by French anarchists.

"May I kill him?"

We just saw "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".
An excellent film, if I may say so.
