I worked from home yesterday because my wife said it'd help with her writing. Little did I know that this'd lead to one Norwegian character acquiring a parrot in Susan Krinard's contemporary-fantasy novel "Black Ice".

"You just made my day, Serge."

So just said another satisfied co-worker.

Things have been better at the office, but something happened that made me smile. Remember that young lady from India I had wanted to help until a Certain Higherup intervened? I knew she didn't like him much even before then, but yesterday I found out how much. Everybody was attending a meeting in person, except for her and yours truly, who both listened in by phone. The Certain Higherup had been talking to us all, explaining how he was going to fix some issues with our system, when I used Instant Messaging to make a sarcastic comment to her about having to listen to the dispensation of his wisdom. The conversation then went something like this, with my beginning thus:

"I think he is like a Hero of the Mahabharata."
"You know about the Mahabharata?"
"Yes. I saw the European version anyway."
"Do you think he is Lord Krishna?"
"Oh yes. Definitely."

I'm a Bad Influence.
