After watering the backyard plants, after rearranging quite a few flowerpots to Sue's liking, after a much needed shower, after taking the van to the carwash&vacuuming place, after a one-hour nap on the couch, after thawing out a burrito, after brewing a cup of coffee, I'll now resume my reading of Hugo nominees.

I just went outside to pick up the mail and found a wing fluttering around the front yard. It's at times like this that I especially acutely wish I could write.

When I told Sue that tonight, after "Alien Tornado", the Skiffy Channel would be showing "Space Twisters", in which a high-school kid's science project may be the key to saving Earth from weather-tampering aliens, she asked if the science project was a miniature volcano.

Tonight's watching of Cinéma featured "Outland", which was released in 1981, yes, that's 31 years ago, and Sean Connery was younger than I am now, which makes me feel old. But I digress. It's a damned stupid movie, which should be subtitled "In Space No One Can Hear You Explode", and with a plot that makes no sense, but then again what else should we expect from Peter Hyams? Still, we pop the DVD in every couple of years.
