Obsession? What obsession?

Sue says I'm an obsessive person. Just because I spent most of the morning pulling out each and every weed from a largish area of the backyard? Heck, I stopped when the sun started baking my neck, didn't I? Wouldn't an obsessive person have kept going?

"Activate... the Tuckerizer!!!!"

This afternoon I went to Alamosa Books, where James S.A. Corey was autographing "Caliban's War", Book Two in the "Expanse" series that began with "Leviathan Wakes", one of this year's Hugo nominees. The two-headed author answered questions from the audience, in the course of which the Daniel Abraham half announced that yours truly will appear in Book Three as the commander of a big military ship. The Ty Franck half, when he autographed "Caliban", added the inscription "Sorry about what happens to you in the next book...", but Daniel then said that my tuckerized self's doomed fate was no reflection of how either of them feels about me.

In other news, Sue just provided me with the rest of her fantasy novel's manuscript. I'll go thru that today and tomorrow. I can celebrate my 18th anniversary as an American citizen later, when the story has been sent off to her editor at Tor Books.
