failed transmutation, so plan mutation

The transmutation of plywood and of particle board into gold was a bit of a failure. It'd have looked more convincing if I'd simply applied cheap foil to the wood. If I *am* asked to make the prop, I'll have to mutate my plans, for that part of the 'device'. Thankfully I have a few possibilities in mind.
