Sunrise on our backyard this morning...

Yesterday, after getting bird feed, I swung by Barnes & Noble to see if they'd received a couple of my orders. They did. I now have Kathry Kramer & David Hartwell's "The Space Opera Renaissance", and Nick Mamatas's "The Damned Highway", which posits that, during the 1972 Presidential Race, Hunter S Thompson also faced other horrors - of the lovecraftian kind. When I got home, mail had come, and it included the DVD of 1975's "Doc Savage".

"G.I.Joe"

I watched 2009's "G.I.Joe" this morning. There were a few plot holes, like the Doctor requiring more research money from Christopher Eccleston (aka the *other* Doctor) then again those polar secret bases must be a big strain on the budget. The hardest thing to believe though was Jonathan Pryce as the President: I see him and I remember that he's played the Master and Mister Dark, not exactly what even a twit would vote into the Oval office. Actually it was a big joyride and that's how I took it. By the way, I was amused, spotting at least 4 actors from the director's "Mummy" movies.
