when a message begins with a request not to laugh

A co-worker who transfered elsewhere within our corporation contacted me this morning, starting with the words "You must promise not to laugh". She then asked if I remembered when she used to make fun of my being ten years older than her. I did. She then said she'd left her reading glasses at home and couldn't read her email.

Of course I then laughed.

on my own tonight

Sue is away on a girl's night out so here I am all by myself. I just finished eating an almost-overcooked mac&cheese. Next I'm going to sit in the backyard for a much needed nap after today's exhausting work, after which I'll read some more of Vic Milan's adventure novel "Dinosaur Lords".
