the past week, and the Future

I came back from the Bay Area last night and I'd say that week went as I had hoped. I talked to my new boss. I did some professional networking. My dear friend Yoko gave me some very important advice – and some brownies. I've come to assume that, when the old boss told my new boss that I’m invaluable, it meant that I'm the only person who has the knowledge necessary for the full-time job of being a Subject Matter Expert for those who make decisions and for those who crunch code. I very much miss designing and writing, but I *am* the team’s best Subject Matter Expert. If that's what they want, a Smee is what they'll get, until I depart.
