sergebroom: (Bogart)
I've resumed reading Mary Robinette Kowal's novel-in-progress "Kiss Me Twice", an SF mystery featuring an AI whose interface is Mae West. Lots of chapters showed up during the Holidays so I have a bit of catching-up to do.
sergebroom: (Adams)
I see that actor Danny Glover is involved in a petition to nominate SF fan (and sometime economist) Paul Krugman for the position of Treasury Secretary. I'd *love* to see that, and the grimaces of the GOP as its folks excrete bricks.
sergebroom: (Uncle Sam)
I just ran a few errands, including a trip to the bookstore, where I took care of a tradition of mine that's been going on since I became an American in 1994: I bought this year's edition of the World Almanach. Why the World Almanach? When I was studying for my citizenship test, I needed the text of the Constitution and that's where I found it. (For my studies I had also bought "Hail to the Chiefs", a book about all our Presidents up to Ronald Reagan, whose chapter consisted of a detailed synopsis of "Bedtime for Bonzo".)
