Sunday so far... I watered very thirsty bushes up the hill then tossed a very dead cactus into the garbage bin. Thank goodness that cactus spine didn't go too deeply into my thumb tip because I can't get it out. I barely feel it, but I expect that my body will eventually ooze it out, or absorb it into my DNA. After that I pulled some weeds off the lawn, mowed the lawn, and put the hoses at the foot of trees. I finished cutting the parts required by my 'carpentry' project, and will be done with the final assembly during the July 4 weekend. What did I do after that, while Sue was watering her flower beds? I washed a few dishes then the floor, and *finally* took a much needed shower, after which I went online to buy alternate Civil War novel "The Last Full Measure" by Jack Campbell, aka John Hemry. Right now Sue is correcting the final draft of one novel and I'm about to resume reading Beth Bernobich's fantasy novel "Passion Play" while sipping coffee. This is the life.

I just finished Beth Bernobich's fantasy novel "Passion Play". What to read next? Bernobich's "Queen's Hunt"? Something by Jack Campbell? Daniel Abraham? James SA Corey? Catherynne Valente? Seanan McGuire? Melinda Snodgrass? Or maybe this author or that other author? Too many good tales to choose from, and why am I hearing tiny violins doing a rendition of "Psycho"?
