gone to the dogs
I had to take Nahla to the vet yesterday. She's the one whose ears and tail were chopped off before she and the rest of the litter were abandoned in the desert. She had no appetite and was walking as if her belly hurt a lot although she didn't complain when we touched it. The doc ran a few tests, but found nothing obviously wrong, but recommended not letting her get too active. Nahla's doing better now. When she and I were about to leave, there was a lady at the front desk with a greyhound mix as tall as my hips. Like our Ranger, he too was missing one leg, but because of cancer. I expect that Zorro - for that is his name - will have a hard time of it because it's one of his thin front legs that's gone. He's a sweet dog and I wish him best.
