the cycle broken, and back to reality

Sue just sent out to Tor the revisions for her fantasy novel "Black Ice" and is now enjoying a much needed sleep. As for myself, today is the last day of my Holidays vacations. They spanned a bit more than two weeks, which is way more than I usually go thru, but I finally broke the cycle. Every year, work would get in the way of my taking time off, and I'd wind up carrying the allowed maximum of 40 hours from one year to the next, and work would again get in the way of my taking time off, either the past year's or the current year's, and I'd again be carrying over to the following year, ad nauseam. No more. Yay. Go me.

le grand mal

I took Cagney to an animal-neurology specialist today and it's not le grand mal that had hit our little guy last week, in his opinion. It may not even have been a seizure, but something like it, possibly a one-time affair caused by his heart. The plan is to keep an eye on him and see if it happens again, in which case we'd go for more in-depth examination like an MRI.
