the last unicorn

Peter Beagle will be at the Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe at the end of this month, for a talk and for the showing of the movie based on his novel "The Last Unicorn", but I decided not to go. Sure, it'd have been nice to finally meet the storyteller about whom other storytellers have said so many awed things, and that it's a 60-mile drive wouldn't have stopped me. What did then? The realization that I'd be alone in a packed audience.
