Sometimes, getting information from work's organization feels like the "Secret Agent" episode "The Paper Chase". Maybe I should change my name to Drake. On the other hand, do I want to wind up in the Village?

Something funny happened with a project I'm working on. I needed to make sure whether or not another group we're tied to also was going to go thru that upgrade so I contacted one of my buddies over there. He didn't know so he passed me on to someone else, who didn't know so *he* passed me on to someone else, who didn't know so *he* passed me on to someone else, who didn't know so *he* passed me on to someone else, who didn't know so *he* passed me on to someone else - the buddy with I had started this chase, and he still doesn't know.

Good thing I have a backup plan.
