"Winter Soldier" and possible SPOILER

I recently figured out why I liked "Winter Soldier", but didn't love it. I kept wondering why, and came up with some explanations, but I finally realized that the main reason is that I felt *cheated*. The ads told us that it'd be about America struggling with its soul's dark shadows, but it took that struggle away and gave my country a free pass. It said "It's not that America has a dark soul, it's that it was seduced by foul deceivers."
