It's hard to take it seriously when people say that, instead of taking their precious guns away (or just regulating their possession), we should instead educate people in their use. I would take them seriously if the frequent massacres didn't educate dangerous losers with the message that they can be somebody, thanks to a weapon that allows them to cause way more damage than a knife would. I would take them seriously if they told their fellow gun owners whose bumper sticker says "Keep honking, I'm reloading" that it might educate the bad apples with a message likely to have a messy outcome.
