I was on just one panel yesterday, about adapting comic-books to the big screen. Sue also was on it. It didn't quite work out because, early on, the moderator asked the few people in the audience what they thought about the subject. The person who immediately answered kept obsessing about how the various comics-based movies ignored the 40 years's worth of stories of the characters. Luckily there were others in the audience who felt otherwise.

We then had dinner with Patrick & Teresa Nielsen Hayden. Teresa's sister Ericka was also there. Very nice, and I think I managed not to make a fool of myself.

Earlier in the day, I got my Christmas present. Rather, I saw something in the dealer's room and I later unsubtly laid hints to Sue that I'd like to have just one thing for Christmas. The hints were accompanied by my pointing to the object I coveted so covetously.

A 12-inch tall handmade model of this famous transportation device...

I'll have to take steps to keep it out of the reach of Agatha the Cat Genius otherwise she'll quickly run out of lives.

Niiiiice! When are you going to get the magic shrinking ray that'll let you use it?

Would you believe I never watched an episode of that series? I'll have to put it on my NetFlix queuuuuuuuuuuue. Anyway, what was that specific episode about?

No need for those. For a mere extra $50, the model will come with a tiny Rod Taylor. Of course I could have saved money by using a cigar instead, like the movie did.

Thanks. I'll probably need to hire someone to build a showcase for it. That may have to wait for the following Christmas, or maybe for my birthday.

One of the characters bids on e-bay for(what he thinks is)a twelve-inch replica of your favorite time machine. As the only bidder, he wins, except it's not the mini-machine used in the movie, it's the full-sized one :)

I think BBT is one on of the funniest shows I've seen in years. I thoroughly recommend it.

Thanks. I'll definitely try to catch it again. As for getting the full-sized Time Machine (presumably the one that was rebuilt by Bob Burns), hey, I'd be happy being stuck with it. By the way, did you ever catch the Machine's cameo appearance in Gremlins? That probably was the best thing about the movie.

Can't say I remember. Isn't the first Gremlins the one where they put one in the microwave?

Yup. I never saw the sequels, but I do remember that scene.
