My employer is going thru a merger with another company - our side being the assimilator. Because of that, today there was a meeting with the contractor group who'll write the interface between the assimilated's systems and my team's. During the course of the meeting, it was stated that I'd be a consutant to the contractor, which I already knew would be the case, but my position was described with an acronym I didn't quite catch.They explained that it stands for 'Subject Matter Expert'. Upon finding that 'SME' was pronounced 'Smee', I said:

"Oh, you mean, like Captain Hook's henchman?"
