I use "Hope for the best, plan for the worst" as a talisman to ward off the worst happening.

If the worst actually happens, we're all screwed anyway so is the glass half-empty (might as well not try to achieve anything at all), or glass half-full (have a go & who knows, we might just get something achieved)?

BTW, is it obvious that I'm in 'problem-solving mode'?
