When I flew back from San Francisco, after getting my yearly review, our plane flew thru some turbulences. Nothing bad, but the plane got shaken up. And I thought, except for me wife and her family, who'd know if I died?

I'd wonder where you were

Well, when I didn't see you around online for awhile, I'd stalk cyber-stalking you....

:)

This is Tania - I'm not sure which pwd I used for my LJ account, and I can't reset it from work.

Thanks, Tania. That is very sweet.

I'm pretty sure the Fluorosphere would notice that a wavicle was missing.

You think so? Thanks for saying that.

I'd certainly notice.

Thanks. I'm beginning to feel like I'm George Bailey now.

My father's name, I must note, was Clarence.

Certainly the Fluorosphere would notice, as would I at my blog.

I've had the same feeling sometimes. I read a melancholic line about that somewhere that went something like "when a man leaves it's like pulling a finger out of a pool of water; the water doesn't notice."

That's a beautiful line. No idea who said that?

No. Might have been used in, of all places, a Louis L'Amour story. It has the flavor of Tell Sackett.

I'd certainly wonder why you'd suddenly stopped commenting on Making Light.

Thanks. There was a time last year when I totally stopped posting on Making Light for a whole month. Not because I was pushing up the daisies obviously, but because of the Project from Hell at the office. When I came back, I found that Mike Ford had passed away right after I went on hiatus. I had never met him in person, but he was always kind, even when correcting me over something I had posted that was inaccurate.

I'd miss you

But would I know if you'd died? Would someone tell me?

It sounds like someone would, based on the comments already posted in my little corner of cyberspace. That is very reassuring. Thanks again, all of you.
