Today was my every-once-in-while one-on-one meeting with the boss. I calmly mentionned - at least I think I was calm - that, with the return of our other Subject Matter Expert, I have gone back to being the Second Best. The two of us are supposed to be on he same level within the hierarchy, but, when he asks people to do something, they do it promptly, and when I ask, it almost takes an Act of Congress for anything to happen. I don't really expect the boss to actually solve this in my favor, but who knows? He might pleasantly surprise me.
