yesterday, today, tomorrow
Apr. 13th, 2007 06:52 amYesterday...
I got off the Pleasant Hill BART Station at the end of the work day and was greeted by the sound of an old Chinese man playing his traditional violin. I have no idea if he was any good, but I made a small donation anyway. Besides, he reminded me of one of the reasons why I want to move back to the Bay Area.
Besides that... The sliding-door fell off my sister-in-law's minivan, which means that she couldn't come to our part of the Bay Area for dinner. Instead, we went to her Oakland neighborhood and had dinner with her and her two boys in Alameda. The youngest entertained himself drawing and coloring variations on the Superman emblem before he went after my cartoon of Bizarro. He rewarded me with his own drawing of yours truly. Do I really look like R2-D2 with a beard?
Today...
Abi is flying back to Scotland. By the way, when we were at the Other Change of Hobbit, on Monday night, I mentionned that, when Lisa Goldstein met me at LAcon last year, she saw the abundant greyness of my hair and said she'd expected my hair to be darker. I always thought that was hilarious, and that my posts on Making Light must express the true youth of my inner child. Still, what I said to Abi is that I had never been so offended. To which Abi, kind soul that she is, pointed out that there were still a few hours left in the day, or words to that effect. To my relief, she didn't follow up on her threat. Still, today's young folks... No respect for their elders.
Have a safe trip back, Abi.
Tomorrow...
Sue and I are driving back to New Mexico.
