Turner Classic Movies is having a contest for its viewers, and the winner will get to choose which three movies she/he wants to see. Unfortunately, the contest requires that we send a 3-minute film explaining why we should be the winners. Forget that. Anyway, here's my idle speculations about which movies I would schedule. Starting at the top...

2- The Best Years of Our Lives
3- Forbidden Planet
4- The Day The Earth Stood Still
5- War of The Worlds

Yes, that's five movies, not three. Well, it's my daydreaming, after all.

Not very likely, unfortunately, unless there is a worldcon in your neighborhood. What about you? Are you thinking of making it to Denver's worldcon next year?

Not very likely, unfortunately If I travel it's either for family reasons (next weekend, for example, my older son graduates from college and gets a surprise), or to an academic conference (I'm going to one in July in Philadelphia, and another in September in some place called Montreal, which I think you might have heard of).

We are going to DragonCon in Atlanta, though. It will be my first con.
