It wasn't certain until today that Sue and I would make it to the worldcon, but I can now say that the answer is a resounding "YES!". This means that I will be helping with the Hugo Ceremonies, which this year are being organized by my friend Susan de Guardiola. I don't quite know what the nature of my involvement will be. Last year I officially was an usher, but I also procured beautiful ladies... I mean... I asked some of my female friends if they'd be interested in helping people on and off stage. If you think my earlier comment reveals the Hugos to be a sordid world, that's nothing. You didn't see that giant ice phallus... er... Hugo in the party room. You didn't see Cory Doctorow wearing goggles and a red cape. You didn't see some of the winners crying.

It *is* a ghastly affair.
I can't wait to do it again.
