That was one of the gags on MST3K during its glory days. (Yes, Sue and I were disciples of Joel.) I think the source was one of those Time-Life books about the Wild West. Good thing he wasn't in my house today because I spent two hours sleeping in an upright position, waking up very briefly and only when I'd start snoring.
That being said... It'd appear that I wasn't the only inhabitant of our home to feel the effects of sleep deficit today.
