I've been watching Firefly again. starting with Serenity, its pilot episode, which was originally aired last on TV. Next were The Train Job and Bushwhacked.

I love this show.
Even more than I originally did.

By the way, some time ago I read on Making Light that Whedon may make another Serenity movie, but it'd be a direct-to-video release. Probably just as well, if that's true. There'd be less pressure to be wildly successful before they decide to do a 3rd one. And a 4th. And... My finers are crossed.

I so hope this is true. I miss those characters so much. I bought a Serenity graphic novel recently, such was my longing.

I've watched it twice, and definitely loved it more the second time.

I worry about the second Serenity movie. Not because I don't want it, but because I also want Ripper and the Buffy comic and Dollhouse and Goners, and the sheer number of projects makes me scared that he's overextending himself.

Did I hear correctly that he just directed an episode of The Office too? Or was that just a TWoP joke?

That said, even Joss phoning it in is better than most stuff out there...

And let's not forget the two comic-books that he writes for Marvel, Runaways and Astonishing X-men. He is a busy person, that's true, but his publishers seem to allow him not to stick to any kind of schedule.

I think he did direct an episode of The Office.

And oops on the Marvel titles...I forgot them because I haven't been reading them, because comics intimidate me.

Same to you.

Why do comics intimidate you? Because they often require a lengthy knowledge of the last 12 issues to figure things out? Have no fear, young man. The first page of each Marvel comic-book now is now a the-story-so-far so that neophytes need not wonder who that guy in the purple radiator-shaped outfit is.

Ah! That is indeed good news. I should just dive in, I guess.

By the way, regarding Whedon and the X-men, I think he's about to stop writing it. Which is a shame.

CYCLOPS: "We have their powerlord, inside his most impregnable prison."
WOLVERINE: "We pregged it quick enough."
CYCLOPS: "We're the X-men."

I'm going to mess that kind of exchange when some oh-hum writer takes over. In which case, I'll probably stop reading it.

I'm pretty sure that if I were in the X-Men, I would say "We're the X-Men" pretty much every day.
