I spent most of yesterday evening putting the finishing touch to all the paperwork that need to be turned in to our tax consultant. I very quickly went to sleep after that. And proceeded to wake up 4 hours later, remembering that I had forgotten to include something important among our incomes & expenses. By the time I realized that I was remembering something that I had dreamed about and which had no basis in reality, it was too late and there was no way I'd go back to sleep.

Thank goodness for my drug of choice, aka coffee.

I'll be quite glad when I turn this stuff in to our tax consultant tomorrow morning. Next week, while he'll be poring over that, I'll be in San Francisco to get my yearly review. In my free time, I'll be enjoying the latest issue of Asimov's, and Sean Williams's far-future space opera Saturn returns. And I'll be visiting with my in-laws, and with my long-time friend Yoko.

Yay!

Oh, don't you hate it when a dream wakes you up completely? Monday, at 2 AM, I dreamed my alarm was going off. I jumped up, flipped on a light and started to bustle around before I looked at a clock. Took me almost until 4 to get back to sleep, and the alarm went off, in reality, at 6. I was a tired girl on Monday.

Bleh...

I rarely dream about alarm clocks going off, since I very seldom use them. Instead, it's my cell phone that goes off. Inside my head, not for real, but by the time I realize that, I'm very awake. Or I'm still sleepy, but my getting up is interpreted by our 3 dogs (who share our bed) that it's time for them go go answer Nature's Call.

Remember how the Wizard of Id had The Midnight Skulker? I'm going to become The Midnight Pedant. In my very first act I congratulate you on the proper spelling of "poring" when you mean "examining closely." The Pedant gets annoyed seeing "pouring" used in that context.

Yay you.

Did you think I'd... ah... tow the line?

Not you, Kemo Sabe, surely not you.
