Last Friday, early, very early in fact, Sue called me from the Bay Area, where she's visiting her family. She had lost her wallet, with in it some credit cards and her driver's license and her SSN card. I took care of as many cancellations and replacements as I could. Sue and I were going to have to go to the local DMV as soon as she flies back here tomororw.

Guess what next-day delivery I got from FedEx today?

Sue's wallet, with a note from the driver in whose taxi it had fallen. He'd made many calls trying to find Sue, but without success, so he wound up mailing it here.

So, you see, there are plenty of people in the world who are honest.

That's true. One night, after a class I left my thumb drive in the classroom computer. I thought it was gone forever. Two days later a student handed it to me.

Strictly speaking, I'm not ready. Sue is coming back tomorrow and there's no point in my using the washing machine just for my stuff. Once we've done our combined washing, it won't take me long to pack.

I am ready for the Making Light party though. I just came back from the grocery store with the supplies I am contributing.

I'm also done with building my contribution to the masquerade presentation being put together by Susan de Guardiola. Hopefully you'll be in the audience, admiring my thespian abilities. Coughgagsplutter.
