can you play me a memory?
Sep. 24th, 2008 09:19 amI didn't realize how much I liked Billy Joel's Piano Man until it recently started popping up on the pay-no-attention-to-your-body's-pain TV monitors that usually play uninteresting music videos. Obviously, it brought back memories to a woman who's my age and who stopped her workout just to watch this:

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Making love to his tonic and gin
He says, "Son can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet
And I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes"
Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright
