a time of re-knee-all
Nov. 13th, 2008 10:57 pmSue's been sleeping a lot today(1), thanks to the painkillers, but hopefully she'll be more alert tomorrow(2), now that they've cut down on the happy juice. With the help of a walker, she was able to take a few cautious steps this morning(3) and I expect that the hospital's physical therapist will be cracking the whip. I hope so otherwise her muscles will tighten and get stiff.
My favorite part of today was when the nurse who brought her lunch mentionned that he used to be a chef. I thought it better not to make any Soylent Green joke.
Besides that... I'm almost done with the house-cleaning that Sue had insisted was necessary, what with her mom flying in tomorrow from the Bay Area. And the fake Christmas Tree is up. As I had feared, Agatha the Cat Genius showed a little too much interest and started chewing on some branches, but her interest seems to have waned - probably because I didn't try too kill her. I started putting up light strands, but I ran out of them and the Tree is only half-lit. The missing lights are somewhere in Denver, as they were my contribution to this year's Making Light party at the worldcon.
Thanks again to everybody for the good wishes you've sent Sue's way. I'll tell her when she stops falling asleep in mid-sentence.

(1) Really yesterday, now that it's past midnight.
