I found the following today in Salon.com and I feel very strange, finding myself in agreement with this person...

Pat Robertson's response to a question about whether he "subscribe[s] to Rush Limbaugh's 'I hope he fails' school of thought" regarding President Obama:

That was a terrible thing to say. I mean, he's the president of all the country. If he succeeds, the country succeeds. And if he doesn't, it hurts us all. Anybody who would pull against our president is not exactly thinking rationally.

You know you're in Bizarro World when Pat "I Aimed that Hurricane" Robertson says that someone else is not being rational...and he's right!

My hope is that we're finally leaving Bizarro World after 8 years of residence on the square planet and Bizarro Pat has quit inhaling from the red-kryptonite bong.

This is a nearly canonical example of the "even a stopped clock is right twice a day" adage. However, the fact that Robertson said it will carry some weight among the people who really need to hear it, so I'm not complaining!

Me neither. It'd be nice to see that Sontara wannabe lose so many of his followers that he'll be by himself in his echo chamber, with maybe a few crickets chirping in the background. Mind you, he is not a new phenomenon, and, as soon as he departs, we may get someone even worse. America has had people like him for a long time. Just watch 1954's The Day The Earth Stood Still, especially the part where fearmongers are having a field day on the radio.

Yeah, it does feel weird to agree with him...

It is nice to see the nasties turn on each other, but even this brief sharing of mental space with Pat makes me want to take a shower.
