The first of Neil Gaiman's 6-issue miniseries Eternals, with art by John Romita Jr, came out 3 weeks ago. Which means that the 2nd issue should be available next week. It's a pretty good re-imagining of Jack Kirby's short-lived comic-book of the Seventies about aliens who came to Earth a looooong time ago and seeded it with Life, and later with human mutations.

"Mark Curry. I have got some good news for you."
"Great. I need good news."
"What would you say if I told you that you were an immortal, indestructible being, put here by aliens to preserve and safeguard the Earth?"
"I guess I'd say please leave me alone."
"What about if I told you that you'd lost your memory, but that you're over half-a-million years old, you have powers you've never dreamed of?"
