5878 feet above

All the way from the Bay Area, fellow Making Light habitué Terry Karney arrived here on Wednesday night. A few minutes ago (after his GPS indicated the altitude of our garage - 5878 feet above the sea), he hopped onto his motorcycle and resumed his trip to the East Coast. I wish I had been a better host, but Work once again got in the way of my Life.

There is something very fulfilling to a job where you work 12-hour days to keep things from falling apart, and your manager shows gratitude by taking you to task for thinking that handling immediate crises is no more important than completing a mandatory online class that you already went thru twice because the darn thing kept freezing on you.
