As frequent visitors to this blog of mine may have noticed, I like inserting photos into my posts. For the last two days, doing so has resulted in LJ telling that this page is not found. Mind you, my various photo galleries ARE accessibles directly. This is probably a result of the recent attacks.

I feel bereft without my photo inserts.

Today's breakfast... No cheesecake. Instead... Yogurt. A big bowl of Corn Chex, dry. And some red wine. The latter isn't part of my ordinaire, in spite of my French name. I'm celebrating a small professional victory, having solved a problem with a data feed we provide to another group, whose manager regards me in high esteem.

My wife and I saw Jake Gyllenhall's "Source Code", which had received a very high rating on Rotten Tomatoes. My wife loved me. I thought it was OK. For one thing, its story had a major structural problem. For another, the premise as originally explained required not noticing the major handwaving. Still, I was willing to accept that because, frankly, SF movies seldom measure up to written SF. (One exception would be "Forbidden Planet".) But... The only way the ending worked is if you accepted that the cold-blooded scientist behind the Source Code had no understanding of how his creation really worked.
