"Source Code"
Apr. 10th, 2011 09:59 pmMy wife and I saw Jake Gyllenhall's "Source Code", which had received a very high rating on Rotten Tomatoes. My wife loved me. I thought it was OK. For one thing, its story had a major structural problem. For another, the premise as originally explained required not noticing the major handwaving. Still, I was willing to accept that because, frankly, SF movies seldom measure up to written SF. (One exception would be "Forbidden Planet".) But... The only way the ending worked is if you accepted that the cold-blooded scientist behind the Source Code had no understanding of how his creation really worked.
