Allegro Non Troppo

This morning, I rehearsed reading my "Steampunk and Hollywood" talk. On the downside... I was dreadful. If I don't do better during my actual presentation at Bubonicon, the audience will probably tar me and ride me out of town on a rail. On the upside... I know, I should say on the bright side, but if I did that, I should say on the dark side instead of on the downside. But I digress. On the other hand... It took me only 40 minutes to go thru the whole thing, including my tripping over words. I don't think I'll need to prune the darn thing or to speak faster. If anything, I'll have to slow down. Way down. In one way, it's a good thing that Bubonicon decided that I'd need 1.5 hour. They'd forgotten that, when I did this 2 years ago at a monthly meeting of the club, it had taken more than one hour because I had encouraged questions and comments while I was giving the talk. Yes, it led to the whole thing taking longer, but it increased the audience's participation and enjoyment. That being said... It's one pressure less on me, but I'd better rehearse some more, if to prevent my tripping over myself otherwise he'll have a few words with me.
