a pillar apparently, and the other half
Jun. 9th, 2012 08:10 pmToday I went to the Albuquerque Comic Expo, which is how I found myself introduced to the creator of the Swamp Thing, Len Wein, by Melinda Snodgrass. Earlier in the day I was introduced by Daniel Abraham to Laura Mixon as (1) one of the pillars of the local SF community, an assertion that pleasantly took me by surprise, and (2) as the other half of the best photo ever taken of his now 6-year-old daughter. I bought from Mike Golden a print of his version of Doctor Strange and Clea, which he signed. I had lunch with Vic Milan, talked with some of the local fans, and got to see Pat Rogers serve as a bouncer.
After the masquerade, I came home, had dinner, then shaved Freya's tail.
("TMI, Serge?")
Not really, because I didn't do her whole tail, only the section that had knots too close to the bone for me to crop the fur away with scissors. She would *not* have liked being nicked. As it is, while she remained quiet thru the whole razoring affair, her stoicism shattered as soon as I let her go and she clamped her jaws on Nahla's muzzle. Not too hard, thankfully.
Tomorrow I'm one of the judges for the kid's costume presentation. I wonder I should bring Thor's Hammer that I gave Sue for Christmas.
